Great & Mighty Things

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33:3

Every once in a while I like for us to focus on a promise that God has given us. The Bible is full of God's promises. (He hasn't broken one, and He never will.)

The promise we find here in Jeremiah is about prayer. When God tells us to call unto Him that means we seek the Lord in prayer.

I love how the Lord explains the workings of prayer so plainly in this verse!
Step 1: Call unto God
Step 2: God will answer you

Sounds pretty straightforward right? Well, it is straightforward! God doesn't try to confuse us and make things complicated. When prayer gets confusing, tough and complicated it is probably because the enemy is doing everything he can to keep you from seeking God. So, just keep praying when that happens!

And then this verse finishes off with a reward! If we seek the Lord, He is going to show us great and mighty things that are going to blow our socks off. When God refers to something as great and mighty, we better brace ourselves.

  1. How exciting is it to think that the Lord of the universe is willing to show each of us great and mighty things! I love it when the Word of God uses the word "will"; To know that God means it when he says he "will" answers us. What a comfort! Now I just have to be prepared for HIS answer.

  2. I talked to someone last night about a situation in her life. Her husband is looking for a job. They know that God has heard their prayers and that He will answer them. Standing on that promise takes a lot of faith and obedience because everything in their flesh is screaming WHEN!?!
God doesn't give us a timeline. A timeline would not require us to exercise our faith
