Chosen Instrument

Don't you just love Paul? He started out as Saul persecuting and killing Christians. Then he was confronted by the Lord on the road to Damascus where he underwent his conversion to become a follower of Christ. After his conversion he becomes known as Paul and he spreads the gospel of Jesus Christ over a vast area for many years.

Look at what the Lord said about Paul:

"This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel." Acts 9:15

Wow! Paul was the Lord's "chosen instrument." That is an amazing gift and honor to be selected by the Lord for such an important responsibility. We all want to be a "chosen instrument" for the Lord. -- The exciting part is that we are the Lord's chosen instruments, we just have to be willing to serve Him.

God has given us gifts that are meant for furthering His kingdom. You may not be sure what your gift is. The best way to find out is to ask God to reveal your gift to you. However, once you ask Him to show you what it is, you need to be prepared to start using it! (A "chosen instrument" is not doing any good sitting on a shelf!)
