Wait & See

"Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!" Isaiah 30:18

Doesn't it just blow your mind that the Lord longs to be gracious to us? The God of all creation wants to be gracious to us and show us compassion. We don't deserve it one bit, but we are His children and He wants to do these things for us.

When I consider this from the perspective with my own children it helps me to understand. Bart and I have three children. We love them immensely! We want to give them things, buy them stuff, show them love, help them, protect them, teach them and make them feel valued beyond belief. Why do we do this?... Because we love them and they are our children. Our kids did not do anything to earn or deserve this love from us. We give it to them because they are ours. --- Now, we are God's children, so why wouldn't He do the same for us? (And God's scale of love, graciousness, and compassion cannot be compared to what we offer!)

If we keep Christ first in our lives, we just have to wait and see all the wonderful things God has in store for us!
