Waiting

"My soul is in anguish, How long, O Lord, how long?" Psalm 6:3

God has given us the Bible for many reasons. One of those reasons is to remind us of the promises that He has made to us. God gives us the promises, but He does not give us the timeline in which He will fulfill His promises.

We know that God is faithful and just. We know that God will not leave us nor forsake us. We know all of this, but yet we struggle with waiting. Human nature is not very patient. And on top of an impatient human nature we also live in an impatient society and culture. People want instant results because it has become the norm for our society.

Sometimes God operates quickly in our lives. Other times we have to wait, and wait, and wait some more. Waiting is no fun, but we grow during our time of waiting. This verse in Psalms reflects the struggle that is experienced when waiting. It is encouraging to know that our waiting is not in vain. We will grow spiritually as we wait and if we persevere and remain faithful to God during our time of waiting He will bless us exceedingly for our faithfulness.
